Create a skin

Create a New Minecraft Skin Project

Choose the fastest starting point for your Minecraft character. Start blank, upload an existing skin PNG, use an image reference as a draft, or remix a public skin before refining it in Skin Lab.

Blank

Start from a blank character

Use a clean 64×64 skin base when you want a fully original Minecraft character and full control over every body part.

Choose Your Starting Point

Creating a Minecraft skin is easier when the starting point matches your intent. A blank skin is best for original work, upload is best for fixing or updating an existing PNG, image reference is best for draft generation, and remix is best when a public skin already has the outfit, palette, or silhouette you want.

Start from a Blank Skin

  • Edit the skin in Skin Lab with body-part focus, layers, color tools, and 3D preview.
  • Check Classic and Slim model fit before spending too much time on sleeves or arm-side details.
  • Use the 3D preview to inspect the front, back, head, arms, legs, and outer layer.
  • Add pose, motion, items, or a background when the skin needs a stronger presentation.
  • Export the final result as a Minecraft skin PNG, snapshot, GIF, video, or wallpaper.
  • Publish the skin, save it to your library, or use it in Showcase and Stage.

Upload a Minecraft Skin PNG

  • Choose Blank when you want a fully original character.
  • Choose Upload when you already have a skin PNG and want to improve it.
  • Choose Image when you have character art or an outfit reference and want a draft.
  • Choose Remix when a public skin already matches your idea but needs custom changes.
